Since the establishment of the first Jewish museums in the late 19th century, Jewish museums have had to grapple with how to represent antisemitism. The rise of European memory culture since the 1980s has intensified this engagement. How does one represent hate? What is the societal role of Jewish museums in the fight against antisemitism? This lecture describes the rise of antisemitism in the present day and offers a historical and future-oriented perspective on these urgent questions.
